V-Wire Injection Well Technology is an innovative solution designed to recharge groundwater aquifers by efficiently capturing and filtering surface runoff rainwater. This system is particularly effective in urban and rural areas experiencing declining groundwater levels.

V-Wire Injection Well Technology – Working Principle
  1. Collection of Rainwater / Runoff

    • Rainwater from rooftops, open areas, or stormwater drains is channeled into a silt trap.

    • The silt trap captures debris, dust, and coarse particles to prevent clogging of the recharge system.

  2. Filtration

    • Water passes through multiple layers of filtration media, such as:

      • Coarse sand

      • Gravel

      • Activated carbon

      • Charcoal

    • This removes finer impurities and ensures clean water enters the recharge well.

  3. V-Wire Injection Well

    • The filtered water enters the injection well, which contains V-shaped stainless steel wire screens.

    • These non-clogging V-wire screens allow water to percolate while keeping out sediments.

  4. Recharge of Groundwater

    • Water is injected into deeper aquifers, using gravitational force (no pump required).

    • The V-Wire screens ensure water spreads evenly into the aquifer without clogging the well.

  5. Percolation into Aquifers

    • The water percolates into cracks, joints, and permeable strata of underground rock formations, recharging the groundwater table.

Working Details – V-Wire Injection Well Technology


The V-Wire Injection Well is designed to recharge groundwater efficiently using filtered rainwater or surface runoff.

  1. Water Collection:
    Rainwater from rooftops, paved surfaces, or stormwater drains is directed into the silt trap unit.

  2. Primary Filtration:
    Large debris and sediments are removed in the silt trap, while the V-Wire stainless steel screen prevents fine particles from entering the well.

  3. Multi-Layer Filtration:
    Water passes through layers of crushed stone, coarse sand, activated carbon, and charcoal, ensuring clean water enters the bore.

  4. Injection into Borewell:
    Filtered water is injected through the bore equipped with a V-Wire screen, allowing even distribution and preventing clogging.

  5. Groundwater Recharge:
    Water percolates into the surrounding soil and aquifer, replenishing underground water levels sustainably.

  6. Maintenance:
    The system is self-cleaning with minimal maintenance, and periodic silt trap cleaning ensures continuous operation.
